New to the molly & mary Etsy shop!

Anyone who knows me knows that I love scarves.  My wardrobe is filled with neutrals, so I wear a scarf almost every day to add some color and style.

Several months ago I came across an inspirational blog,  MaiTai’s Picture Book.  MaiTai gives lots and lots of fabulous ideas for using scarves and other accessories to create a variety of looks from a few basic clothing staples. Check out her post about how to accessorize a little black dress for several elegant looks.

In my ongoing search for fabulous vintage objects, I come across more lovely scarves than I could possibly wear.  Visit my Etsy store to see some of my finds…more are coming soon!

One of the vintage pins in my Etsy shop is featured in a treasury all about starbursts.  Check it out!

I have a small collection of vintage milk glass – a bud vase, a large vase, and two small shakers that lost their lids before I acquired them.  When they are not living in my corner cabinet, I use all of them for holding flowers.  The milky white glass is perfect for showing off the blossoms they hold.

Here are just a few of the gorgeous milk glass vessels that can be found on Etsy.

Anyone who knows me or has visited my Etsy shop knows that I adore scarves, especially vintage scarves designed by Vera Neumann.  Today I discovered a book at Anthropologie about this designer’s career.  The book is described as “A chronicle of the career of the incomparable designer, artist and entrepreneur Vera Neumann, who built her company on the philosophy that fine art should be available to everyone…”  It’s now at the top of my wishlist!

I just added seven pieces of fabulous vintage fabric to the molly & mary Etsy shop.  They include wool, swiss dot, and canvas.  Many of them incorporate shades of green (my favorite color!), and each of them has a unique and appealing pattern.

I’ve decided that at some point during the next year and a half, I’m going to spend a week in Paris by myself.  I’m thinking of this as an intensive “independent study” experience that would allow me to spend as much time as I want in museums and historic sites without worrying about what a companion might rather be doing.

Getting in the mood for all things Parisian, I searched Etsy for “Paris” and discovered 5 Dollar French Market.  Everything in this charming shop is $5 and their photos are fantastic.  From journals and tags to seam bindings and lace, I want one of each of their French-inspired items!
