I first read about the film I Am Love (Io Sono L’Amore) in Vogue, and I went to see it yesterday afternoon as part of my stay-cation this week.   The main character, Emma Recchi, is the wife of a wealthy Italian textile manufacturer.  And her clothes are gorgeous.  They are also meaningful, with the colors and styles reflecting the emotions throughout the story.  Check out this article for the scoop.

I love this recent blog post from www.garancedore.fr about “What is Elegance?” and thought it was worth a repost!

A few weeks ago, I discovered the website Looklet.com and realized that my true calling is being a stylist.  This super-fun site allows you to select a model and create a variety of different looks by choosing clothing, jewelry, and accessories.  I could play with it all day, experimenting with different combinations of my favorite pieces and looks for different occasions.  For me, it’s the grown-up, 21st-century version of Fashion Plates, which I spent hours playing with as a little girl in the early ’80s.

New to the molly & mary Etsy shop!

Anyone who knows me knows that I love scarves.  My wardrobe is filled with neutrals, so I wear a scarf almost every day to add some color and style.

Several months ago I came across an inspirational blog,  MaiTai’s Picture Book.  MaiTai gives lots and lots of fabulous ideas for using scarves and other accessories to create a variety of looks from a few basic clothing staples. Check out her post about how to accessorize a little black dress for several elegant looks.

In my ongoing search for fabulous vintage objects, I come across more lovely scarves than I could possibly wear.  Visit my Etsy store to see some of my finds…more are coming soon!

I had been reading about the style blog Garance Dore for some time, but I just recently visited it myself.  I’m officially obsessed!  French illustrator Garance Dore’s blog is all about fashion, including the “streetstyle” photos she shoots.  You can explore the archives by Illustrations, Photos, or Beauty.

I especially love her street photography of women looking fabulous during their everyday life.  Tres inspirational!

Anyone who knows me or has visited my Etsy shop knows that I adore scarves, especially vintage scarves designed by Vera Neumann.  Today I discovered a book at Anthropologie about this designer’s career.  The book is described as “A chronicle of the career of the incomparable designer, artist and entrepreneur Vera Neumann, who built her company on the philosophy that fine art should be available to everyone…”  It’s now at the top of my wishlist!
