architecture

I visited Houston last weekend to see the Menil Collection and the Museum of Fine Arts Houston.  I especially love the Cy Twombly Gallery, and I visited the Dan Flavin Installation at Richmond Hall for the first time.  The Menil Collection neighborhood is beautiful and a great place for taking photos.

Last month I attended a conference in St. Louis and stayed in a hotel down the street from Louis Sullivan’s Wainwright Building.  This building is considered an architectural landmark  because it marks the beginning of modern skyscaper design.  These photos capture the details of the intricate ornamentation that are not usually noticeable in typical distance shots of the building.
