I recently bought several yards of a pretty satin fabric — white with a black floral pattern — at a fabric sale. I’ve been wanting an elegant robe, and it occurred to me that this fabric would be perfect. I decided that a vintage pattern would best suit what I had in mind, so I scoured Etsy and found several great patterns. When I came across this pattern from Serendipity Vintage, I knew I found the one. I adore the ruffles and the sleeves are just what I had in mind.
I’ve also had a great experience with Collette, the owner of Serendipity Vintage. She shipped the pattern right away and sent me a sweet message. The fabulous sellers are one of my favorite things about Etsy! Her shop offers several wonderful vintage patterns, organized by decade, so it’s a great place to begin your search if you are interested in making a vintage-inspired garment.
My pattern should arrive any day now, and I can’t wait to get started on this new project!

Molly, I didn’t know some of my patterns are considered “vintage!” I’ll show you some if I ever get back to the DMA.

Hi Louise! I’d love to see your patterns sometime. I miss seeing you at the DMA, and you’ve been in my thoughts. I hope we’ll get to see each other sometime soon! Thanks for checking out my blog. 🙂
