Last month I attended a conference in St. Louis and stayed in a hotel down the street from Louis Sullivan’s Wainwright Building. This building is considered an architectural landmark because it marks the beginning of modern skyscaper design. These photos capture the details of the intricate ornamentation that are not usually noticeable in typical distance shots of the building.
